Paul Pogba Became The Sixth-Worst Penalty Taker In Premier League History

Frenchman Paul Pogba became the 6th worst spot-kick taker after his miss against Wolves

Paul Pogba on Monday, August 19, missed a penalty against Wolves in a Premier League tie. If he had scored the penalty, Manchester United would have recorded a win over Wolves.

Pogba is now regarded as the sixth-worst penalty taker in the Premier League history.

Manchester United on Monday night, August 19, played out a 1-1 draw with Wolverhampton Wanderers in their second game in the 2019/20 Premier League season.

United went into the match with confidence after beating Chelsea in their first game at Old Trafford, and the expectations of their fans was for them to beat Wolves.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's men actually had the chance to win their Premier League tie against Wolves, but Frenchman Paul Pogba missed a decisive penalty.

The France international won the spot-kick and took it despite having words with Marcus Rashford on who to take the penalty.

Pogba's penalty was saved by Wolves' goalie Rui Patricio and the miss by the France international made Manchester United fans livid. However, this lead to a serious social media racial discrimination on the French international. But the club and team-mates supported him and silence the racial abuse. 

According to the latest report on UK Sun, Paul Pogba is now the sixth-worst penalty taker in the history of the Premier League after failing to score against Wolves.

Riyad Mahrez, Juan Pablo Angel, Steed Malbranque, Dwight Yorke, and Kevin Phillips have all got worse penalty records than Pogba in the Premier League.

The report also added that former Barcelona and Manchester City star Yaya Toure is the most successful spot kick taker in Premier League history.

Ivorian Yaya Toure scored all 11 of his penalties while playing for Manchester City before he left the Etihad stadium at the end of 2017/18 Premier League season.
