PORTUGAL 3-1 SWITZERLAND — RONALDO's HAT-TRICK SECURE NATIONS LEAGUE FINAL FOR PORTUGAL

Cristiano Ronaldo put on a superb display firing Portugal into the Nations League final with a Hat-trick against Switzerland

Cristiano Ronaldo's Stunning Hat-trick fires hosts Portugal into the Nations League final after an emphatic 3:1 win over Switzerland at the Estadio do Dragao

The 34-years-old Portuguese captain handed his side the advantage in the first half from a 25 yards free-kick. Ronaldo, without a goal in four international games prior to today, sends his cleanly-struck free-kick past Yann Simmer to give Portugal a 25-minute lead.

Switzerland were given a penalty for what was ruled as a foul by Nelson Semedo on Steven Zuber. AC Milan defender Ricardo Rodriguez struck back in early second half for Switzerland after VAR was called into action and a penalty to Vladimir Petkovic's side.

However, the former Manchester United, Real Madrid and currently Juventus talisman was not going to allow the 2016 Euro Champions to be knocked out in the semi-finals of the Inaugural Nations League competition.

Just then the match seem to be heading to an extra-time. Portugal take the lead once again in the 88 minutes, with Ronaldo bagging his second goal of the night in what has been — as ridiculous as this sounds, a fairly lackluster performance.

Portugal second goal seem to secure a perfect win to them, but just then, Ronaldo is not yet done.

Portugal embarked up the field on a counter-attack after Xhaka lost the balloon Mid-field. It's a great work from Bernardo Silva down the byline and pull it back to Ronaldo who Ghosted a yard away from Manuel Akanji standing off him, curved a perfectly placed, utterly unstoppable low shot past Yann Simmer from just inside the penalty area to complete yet another spectacular Hat-trick.
